General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

- It sounds like you may have a ligament injury that has destabilized your ankle
- Follow this for at least 2 weeks: RICE
-- R= Rest
-- I = Ice your ankle
-- C= Compression - use a crepe bandage
-- E = Keep your foot Elevated.
- If this doesn't help, you will need to get imaging done of your ankle (MRI) and then further proceed with treatment.
- You can take OTC pain killers like ibuprofen for the time being.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
