Suggest Treatment For Discomfort In Lower Abdomen And Back While Having Constipation

Lower abdominal discomfort and lower back discomfort. I have been constipated for 3-4 days and took 2 ducolax.......each 6 hrs apart and I have had loose stools for the past 12 hrs. I am a 65 yr old female in good health. I do have a slight fever.....99-100. I have only had ginger ale during the past 10 hrs. No severe pain, just uncomfortable Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you probably have used too much of Ducolax and that's the reason why you are having diarrhea for 12 hours. You also may be having a viral infection because you are experiencing fever and as a coincidence you used Ducolax too. Try to keep hydrated using water and fluids. Use toasted bread and crackers.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
