Hello,

Narcotic pain medication may aggravate your problem by aggravating constipation.

Diverticulitis is treated during flare-up episodes. They may cause pain, blood in stool, Vomiting and fever.

Treated with antibiotics like amoxiclav or metronidazole or clindamycin or moxifloxacin or levofloxacin.

Diverticulitis patients may prone to develop constipation or obstruction or perforation or fistula formation etc.

Eat a soft diet, avoid spicy food and alcohol.

If symptoms not improved please consult your gastroenterologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
