Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Ear Pain

Hi Doctor, I have been having dizziness and ear pain frequently for the past 10 days. The pain is less frequent but only on the left side. I feel like it is wet and blocked on the inside. Also, close to where I have the ear ache, I have had some ulcers in the back of my throat for 4 months which have not been healing. When I have a cold or sore throat, the ulcers and my throat hurt really badly on the left side. Today, when touching my ulcers, I also felt a lump in the back of my throat (again on the left side) very close to the ulcer. It seems about pea sized and hurts when I press it. The ENT tested me for allergies and hearing test, but everything seems mostly ok. Should I change my doctor? Please help.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dizziness and ear pain . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergic reaction , ear canal dermatitis , otitis media and foreign body entrapment. Sometimes injury due to Q-tip can also cause such symptoms , in which tympanoplasty can be recommended .. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again as your are experiencing hearing loss and humming noise that is tinnitus . Doctor will examine with otoscope and order CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( gentamicin ) , anti histamine and supplement like ginkgo biloba . For now take benadryl twice a day a, keep your ear dry and apply warm compresses to external ear .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
