Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I had a build up of fluid that wasn t infected in my middle ear. My ent drained the ear to relieve the pressure and pain. It has been about two weeks since the procedure. Today, I had a loud pop from that ear with a grainy/sand like discharge. I ve had a few smaller pops from it. I m also very dizzy and nauseous. My ent warned me about the dizziness and nausea. My concern is the grainy sand like discharge.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM That sounds like an ear infection.I will suggest you see your ENT for examination.Dizziness and nausea with ear discharge might signal a poor evolution of an ear infection like tympanic perforation. However, only and otoscopic exam by your ENT will reveal the exact cause. You may need: -Oral antibiotics like amoxicillin-clavulanic acide -Ear drop like oflocet -Steroidal anti-inflamatory -Rest well -Avoid putting things into the ear Just see your ENT for evaluation and proper management. Hope this will help Best regards
