Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Numbness In The Jaws
My husband (65 yr old) was out shopping when suddenly he was dizzy, and had numbness in his jaw. He said he staggered to the car, where he had a bottle of water and felt better after drinking it. (He felt he was dehydrated), and he has had another bottle and 1/2 since he got home. My concern is that he still has the numbness in his jaw. Should I call his dr.
He should see someone for assessment. Though dehydration can cause dizziness, it is not usually associated with numbness though persons can react differently to conditions. Other conditions such as electrolyte disorders - abnormal potassium, calcium or magnesium, neurological conditions (such as TIA- mild stroke that lasts less than 24 hours). Physical examination and possibly investigations may be needed.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
