Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Peripheral Vision In A Person With Reactive Hypoglycemia

I was feeling like my blood sugar was low so I was going to get something to eat when I lost all my peripheral vision, I found my way to a seat and after a few minutes I passed out. I woke up on the floor of Home Depot caught my husbands eye and he lead me out to the car. From that point my speech was confused my color was very pale, we got home and I went to bed with a headache, the rest of the day. I am not diabetic I am reactive hypoglycaemic but low blood sugar reactions till now have been typical.

Hello,

What is the cause of hypoglycemia for you? Any medicines are you taking? Drinking alcohol? Any medical history? Anorexia? Any surgery?

You make booster your sugar when you feel sweating or shaking, feeling hungry, feeling worried. If low blood sugar levels are not treated, severe symptoms can occur. These can include: a headache, blurry vision, or feeling dizzy, feeling weak or having trouble walking, acting confused or not thinking clearly, passing out. Treatment for your low blood sugar involves both raising your blood sugar and treating the cause of your low blood sugar.

You usually raise your blood sugar by eating or drinking quick sources of sugar. I might recommend that you carry a quick source of sugar with your at all times in case you need it. Your doctor will also treat the condition that is causing your low blood sugar, if it can be treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General & Family Physician
