Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Tinnitus

Upon doing a set of heavy weightlifting, I became dizzy and a few minutes later a wave of loud ringing in my ears appeared. It has now been six days and the ringing has not stopped. My hearing out of my left ear now sounds distorted and sensitive to noise. I do not feel dizzy anymore however. I ve seen my family physician and he ordered a steroid treatment which I completed. It did not help. I had a CT scan this morning and am awaiting the results. I also will be seeing an ENT. Will this heal on its own or will I have permanent hearing damage?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to BPPV.

For that you can take tablet betahistine after ENT consultation.

Along with that avoid sudden head movements.

Take proper rest. Keep your self hydrated.

Do regular blood pressure monitoring.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
