Suggest Treatment For Dizziness, Nausea And Vomiting

Trying to figure out what is cause of my wife s symptoms. She has dizziness, nausea and vomiting sometimes. Also seems to stem from pain radiating out from her upper back. She has had and MRI done and that has shown nothing. Did show some plaque but nothing major according to the doctor. She will have a dizziness test done in a week or two and will also be checked for Lyme disease. Thanks, Wallace

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about your wife having dizziness, nausea, vomiting sometimes, MRI done is normal, has radiating pain from upper back.
As per the history your have provided this looks to be vertigo causing nausea and vomiting as reflex symptoms.
The pain in upper back looks to be due to nerve compression in the neck region and since you have not mentioned which area had MRI I take this to be of brain or mastoids.
What she needs is MRI of the cervical spine and spondilitis can be the cause of vertigo and pain in upper back.
Get an opinion of a NEurologist for confirmation and get treated accordingly.
Also take a second opinion of an ENT Specialist so that the ENT related problems are whether confirmed or ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
