Suggest Treatment For Dizziness When Diagnosed With Positional Vertigo

I had positional vertigo about 14 years ago. Ever since then I have had a little dizziness when I would tip my head back on my left side. The last week I have been feeling that dizziness more often. Any suggestions on what could be causing it now ?

Hello,

You have a history of positional vertigo, unfortunately positional vertigo can return (relapse) due to aging, inner ear condition or some physical trauma / injury. However, you can get dizziness or discomfort due to ear wax also. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT. He may tell you to do some Imaging tests and audimetry test.

If it is wax he will give you ear drops and then do the cleaning himself but if is it BPPV, you will need medications. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected and your clinical symptoms. Do not drive and avoid taking high salt diet. Cut on nicotine intake, smoking, alcohol, etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
