Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a cyst drained by my general physician. The cyst became infected so he made an incision and drained it, and broke up some of the wall. It is almost flat now (was very large) but there is still some discharge and it smells. What can be done about the smell?
The smell could be related to the presence of infection, even if drained. For this reason, taking oral antibiotics and using local irrigation with an antibiotic, in order to cause local disinfection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
