Suggest Treatment For Dry And Itchy Skin On Hands

I find I suddenly have very dry, itchy skin on one of my hands. Sometimes there are red patches as well. Much drier than just normal winter dryness. It seems to be spreading as well. Is there any over the counter topical cream that you can recommend?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dry and itchy skin on hands . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like contact dermatitis , psoriasis , eczema or fungal infection . Sometimes chemical exposure can also cause such symptoms .I would suggest you to keep you hands clean and dry , apply over the counter anti fungal and anti inflammatory cream along with taking anti histamine like benadryl twice a day . Protect your hands from direct sunlight . Consult doctor for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antifungal like fluconazole , anti inflammatory , immunosuppressants.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
