Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had staph throughout my body several months ago due to a severe muscle injury and internal bleeding. Since then, I have developed a dry constant cough and feel like something is pushing on my lungs to make me cough. I have also had some pretty severe chest pains, but didn t know if it is just indigestion or reflux. Any advice would be appreciated.
This could be acute bronchitis with as you are having dry persistent cough but it must be evaluated further.
It can be diagnosed clinically but you must undergo routine blood investigation with suptum R/ M and C/S,chest x- ray to rule out any other pathology of lungs.
You might require long course of antibiotics (amoxyllin with chavulanic acid or cephalosporins) with other supportive treatment like bronchodilators (steroids, beta agonists, anticholinergics) inhalers or nebulizers with steam inhalation frequently.
If you are having gastric or indigestion peoblem then you should also take antacid like pantoprazole 40 mg.
Consult physician and take further advise.
