Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough And Painful Ear

I have bad cough. A little blood but, mostly dry cough. Tastes like infection. It has been 3 days. No fever or sinus. My left ear hurts but, I have permanent tubes in both. Drinking water, the with honey and lemon. No appetite everything tastes bad. Feeling weak and ribs are hurting but, that is from coughing.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear welcome to HCM and thanks for choosing us.

I share your concerns. it is because of infection only as you have suggested. In my opinion you have infection in in throat as well as in lungs.

I treat my patients with such symptoms in following ways
1 sputum microscopic examination and culture and sensitivity for antibiotics
2 a course of antibiotic(penicillin group is good option)
3 decongestants and antihistamines
4 expectorant cough syrup
5 saline gargles

Keep taking lemon and honey. Keep away from cold food items like ice cream.

I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us for more questions. I wish you good health. Kindly rate this reply. Thanks
