Suggest Treatment For Dry Mouth And Thirsty While Having Prostate Cancer
Hi my father is 91 years old, recently had a minor stroke and how lives in a nursing home. He has prostrate cancer and a suprapubic catheter. He has started to complain of having a very dry mouth, being thirsty and started to slurr his words quite badly.
I am sorry to hear about your father who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and living in a nursing home. He is currently suffering from persistent dry mouth and being thirsty. This is a early symptom of diabetes and I would ask if the nursing home would check his blood sugars for the next week to see if he has diabetes. If he does not then he may have dry mouth from other medications. The list of medication that cause dry mouth is very lengthy. I would then recommend he start using an over the counter treatment caused biotin. This is a treatment to help reduce dry mouth and will help your father. Hope this answers your question. Please contact us again with your concerns.
