Suggest Treatment For Dry Penile Skin

after alot of intimate use with the Jergens brand of lotion, my penis got very raw and then dry. so i stopped using it. along with the dry skin came red Psoriasis likes spots on the head and around just beneath. i am not using any lotion and not masturbating. spots seem to come and go perhaps due to aggravation. i have clobetasol propionate that i use occasionally on my elbows. but i worry it is not okay to use on the penis. what can i do? i cannot imagine that using a moisturizer that upset my skin for a few weeks could cause permanent damage but i am also worried at the same time. any help would be greatly appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to penile psoriasis.

I suggest using a topical treatment.

You should be able to control psoriasis easily using a weaker steroid such as Hydrocortisone cream such as Dermatop.

A newer option is the non-steroid Protopic ointment which can also be tried.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
