Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a ich for years and my doctor tells me I have dry skin and to use lotion. I started this ich after she gave me Lovastatin 10 mg for high colestrol I know this is not the cure, I have told her it was the Lovasaton but she won t listen to me. Thinking about changing doctors.

Suggest Treatment For Dry Skin And Severe Itching
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic I agree, if your doctor does not listen to your concerns then maybe you need to re assessed. Lovastatin or any other medication can cause itching. Allergic reactions can occur to any medication. It would be best to have a trial without the medication to see if the itching stops. IN general, it should stop within a week to 10 days. If there is no change, it is not likely due to the medication. This should only be done after informing your present doctor or alternative doctor. I hope this helps
