For the last two months I have a dry throat behind my nose and uvula on the side of my nose, but mouth is moist. Uvula sticks to he back of my throat when I wake up. Also there is a dry residue at the back of my throat behind uvula and higher. I use humidifier at night no central heating and I drink plenty of water. No caffeine or alcohol.
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain dry throat can be caused due to a number of reasons like mouth breathing especially while sleeping, allergies obstructive sleep apnea, throat inflammation etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Laryngoscopy and upper G.I Endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. In case of mouth breathing you can be follow a simple trick that is you can stick a vertical strip of micropore take over the closed lips and it will help in enforcing nasal breathing.. You can also stick xylitol patches over the inner cheek and it will help in maintaining lubrication in mouth and throat..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
