Suggest Treatment For Ear Congestion

My ear feels stuffed up , like I want it to pop, AND noise sounds so loud, even my own voice. Now, I have a headache from it - but that might be from the stress I m experiencing. I sleep with a CPAP machine and a window air conditioner going. Nasal pillows are my mask .

Hi,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have ear infection which seems to be due to eustachian tube dysfunction and ear wax build up. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to:
- Do warm saline gargles and nasal rinses
- Take steam twice a day
- Apply warm dry compresses to external ear.

Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis if symptoms persists. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin at least for a week along with decongestants.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari, Dentist
