Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2 year old has a double ear infection. We have gone to her pediatric doctor and she is on a 10 day antibiotic. She has been having mucus discharge and redness around her eyes. Will this be remedied with the antibiotic or should I contact her pedi again.
Hello. Welcome to HCM. This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.
See, your child is having an ear infection and she is being treated with antibiotics. She is also having some eye infection as it seems from your history. The antibiotics should solve this problem too but it is better to apply some local tobramycin eye drops thrice to four times daily. Also keep the eyes clean with swabs from inner to outwards direction.
Hope that was helpful. Regards
