Suggest Treatment For Ear Pain With Feeling Of Ear Congestion

Hi My wife is suffering from ear pain with feeling congestion in ear and nose since 4 days. She took the medicine called Florux and got steam inhalation also. Still she is suffering from same problem. Could you please advise how to cure such problems?

Hi,

Ear pain and congestion can occur due to middle ear infections, sinusitis, eustachian tube block or ear drum infections. I would suggest your wife to take antihistamines. Change of antibiotic can also be useful. Amoxicillin with clavulanic acid 625 mg can be taken for 3 to 5 days.

Ear congestion can be relieved by taking antihistamines such as Sinarest and Cetirizine. Sinarest can be taken and Cetrizine once a day at night. Both the drugs can cause drowsiness in some patients.
