hi
during cold episodes pain is referred to ear and ur ear aches .
to prevent ear aches u have to take precautions so that water do not enter the ear ( keep cotton or ear plugs that do not allow water )
and also u should not use ear buds that irritates ear skin and aches .
ear ache due to compression of ear cartilage with r ear piece of head phones .
u can change and try them.
I think I have answered ur questions .
I will be happy for any other questions and feed back .
