Suggest Treatment For Earwax Blockage

After cleaning my ear with qtips I think I clogged my ear deep with earwax. As soon as I pushed the qtip back it felt like it was muffled and couldn t hear. It does not hurt at all so I don t think I injured my eardrum or anything like that but I have been trying different solutions in my ear and nothing seems to work. I also have a slight numb feeling around and in my ear.

Hi,

Please do not try to clean your ear on your own. The feeling of blockage in ear can be ear wax, injury, inflammation of ear drum, blocked eustachian tube (following sinus infection) or cervical spondylosis causing pressure on nerve supplying ear. Ear wax can be removed by putting Soliwax drops (over the counter) 2-3 drops in each ear at bed time for 3-5 days. The wax gets smoothed and gets released out of the ear. You need not use q-tips and try to remove it yourself. Consult an ENT doctor for examining your ear, dislodge the wax by proper instrumentation and ear wash OR follow examination / investigations to pin point the cause followed by specific treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
