Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am usingClobetasol Propionate lotion for eczema on the scalp. The pinkish color on the scalp seems to continue with mild itchiness.......been treating for about a year.......some hair loss.....but my hair was very thick..so my Dr.seems to think I have enough hair........what can I expect? YYYY@YYYY
Chronic use of topical steroid can cause thinning of the skin (skin atrophy) and consequent hair loss (alopecia). Pinkish colour is due to erythema/vasodilatation.
Contact allergy also can cause irritation. It is better to discontinue clobetasol lotion and wait for the reversal of skin changes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
