Suggest Treatment For Elevated D-dimer And Numbness In Chest Wall

My D-dimer is high. My doctor sent me for a P.E. chest and bilateral venous doppler. All negetive. I was having recent numbness in my left arm and left anterior chest wall which is how blood test arrived at high D-dimer. Everything else was normal

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No need to worry for Pulmonary embolism.
D dimer is elevated in heart diseases also.
And left sided chest and arm pain is commonly seen in heart diseases.
So better to consult cardiologist and get done
1. Ecg
2. Blood pressure monitoring
3. 2d echo
4. Stress test.
If all these are normal then no need to worry for heart disease.
Sometimes muscular pain can also cause similar symptoms and elevated d dimer.
So take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs. Apply warm water pad on affected areas. Don't worry, you will be alright but better to first rule out heart diseases.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
