Suggest Treatment For Elevated TgAb When Suffering From Hypothyroidism

My Husband has high TgAb antibodies. He has been diagnosed as Hypothyroid and has taken Synthroid for approx. 20-25 years. I had insisted his Dr. check him for Hashimotos. His TPO was normal and TgAB was very elevated. His Dr. said nothing changes in his tx and he continues just taking Synthroid. I have read some articles and can see that in most cases and elevated TgAb is not normal. Should he be taking a T-3 hormone? What other measures should we take to make sure he does not have some other illness, or precursor to one? We would want to know how to nip it in the bud. The Dr. seems to think it is no big deal that the TgAB is elevated.
