My wife is a type2 diabetes patient. She finished taking Medrol 4 mg dose pack 6 days ago, because of a cute asthma. She is having blood sugar between 270 and 330 fasting. The reading this morning is 330 even after her diabetes medications regularly, currently taking prancing 1 mg x 3, onglyza 5 mg x 1
Hello sir, Good morning, I read your history properly in which you mentioned that your wife has type II diabeted n recently on medrol for acute asthma n now her blood sugar level is high than expected So first I ll explain what is medrol It is methylprednisolone steroid used in various situation including acute asthma attack... As it is steroid n steroid can cause hyperglycemia means increase blood sugar So I think what you find impairment in her blood sugar is mostly due to this steroid medrol... So just consult your diabetic physcian for that he ll either use wait n watch strategy for 1 week. Ya introduce higher dose or insuline temporarily n once she has expected blood sugar level than again star with as usual dose... Thank you
