Suggest Treatment For Elevated Levels Of BUN And Creatinine

My recent labs show BUN at 33, Creatinine at 2.04, and eGFR at 25. My dr. says I have renal insufficiency and has referred me to a kidney specialist. These numbers have been steady for the past year. Is it necessary to see a specialist? What can I do to improve the numbers? Thanks.

Hello
Went through your post, your kidney function(KFT) says you have a chronic kidney disease(CKD) as you your self said it has been there for one year any abnormal KFT of more than 3months means CKD.
You have to consult nephrologist for two reasons.
1.To look for cause of CKD for which you may need needle biopsy of kidney.
2.To dicrease progression of your deteriorating KFT.
hope you are satisfied with answer.
Regards.
