Hello dear
Understand your concern
Enlarged prostate compress the prostatic urethra lead to
urinary retention and
overflow incontinence lead to
frequent urination.
I advice you to consult the certified
urologist and get the following investigation for proper treatment:
digital rectal examination, USG scan of pelvis/lower abdomen (pre and post voiding urine), blood PSA, urine routine and microscopic, uroflowmetry, prostate biopst to rule out malignancy.
All these help to detect grade of prostate enlargement.
Mild and moderate can be managed by medicine.
Severe enlargement require surgery like Transurethral resection of prostate.
Urologist provide following advice and medicine:
Tablet tamsulosin (alpha1 blocker, reduce retention by relaxing smooth muscle of prostate wall), tablet finasteridine (reduce active testosterone).
Avoid alcohol and so much drink at the bed time(Avoid 4-5 hour before going to bed). Or if possible cut down the alcohol drink.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
