Sir, I am 56 years old. I am facing problem of prostrate enlargement(35.5CC) doctor prescribed for Veltamplus 1 per day .Now I am continuing with the same medicine since last 1 month. how long I should continue ? with this medicine my problem will cure totally? Kindly advice
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Velta Plus contains Tamsulosin and Dutasteride medication. It is prescribed for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also called benign enlargement of the prostate. Dutasteride stops testosterone to be converted into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is known to cause benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Tamsulosin helps in relaxing the muscles of prostate and bladder neck, thereby ensuring easier urination. You need to take the medication continuously and get monitored regularly for knowing about the size of the prostate. Accordingly the dosage can be adjusted. With this medication, your condition can be controlled but cannot be cured. If you need permanent cure, then you need to get surgical resection of prostate done by means of an operation 'Trans Urethral Resection of Prostate' (TURP). For this you need to consult Urologist. Hope the information provided would be useful. All the best.
