Hello,
* As per my surgical experience, the enlargement of the
prostate can be from senile changes,
tumor or else (the
bupropion is not known to alter serum levels of prostate-specific antigen in any documented medical journal).
Management depends upon the underlying cause, associated symptoms as frequency, urgency,
dysuria or inability to pass urine.
If the size of the prostate is moderate,
biopsy is non-malignant and symptoms are moderate, medical therapy with alpha-blockers does give best results.
If size of the prostate is very large, much symptomatic severity or no response to medicines, surgery with laser or transurethral resection is best option.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
