Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Tonsils, Sore Throat And Headache
Hi! I have had a sore throat for about a week. My tonsils are swollen and it is difficult to swallow. Hubby says tonsils look pink, not red or splotchy. No fever but headache and my right ear hurts. ? strep but no exposure that I know of. I am surprised my enlarged tonsils and sore throat have lasted this long.
Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using a throat spray for local application. If the symptoms continue, you should see a doctor for a physical examination. Antibiotics may be need to treat the tonsillitis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
