Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern.

Continue taking Ciprofloxacin empirically as prescribed by your urologist, if I were your treating doctor I would have recommended culture and sensitivity test for your urine sample and based on the report I would have started the most suitable and effective antibiotics.

Beside I would like to advice the following:

1. Drink more fluids & urinate often and completely.
2. Take warm baths (use sitz baths) to relieve pain.
3. Take stool softeners to make bowel movements more comfortable.
4. Avoid substances that irritate your bladder, such as alcohol, caffeinated foods and drinks, citrus juices, and hot or spicy foods.
5. If you have burning sensation during urination, you may take oral potassium solution.

Hope to have answered your query.
Wishing you best of your health.
