Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m feeling some gas in my chest and the only way for me to burp it out is to throw up a little vomit. Sometimes a little bit of vomit comes out but the it stays in my chest and it gets stuck. I ve been having this problem for the past 3 weeks but its got a lot worse when I had an endoscopy performed. I ended up having to go to urgent care 3 times for the past 3 days. They prescribed me Pantoprazole (40 mg), Ranitidine (300 mg), Dicyclomine (10mg) and told me to drink water mixed with a teaspoon of baking soda 3 times a day. The baking soda hurt one day, but stopped working the next day and I still feel gas/pressure in my chest. The doctor said all the gas should be gone with all the stuff they prescribed me. He gave me some anxiety meds (alprazolam) and that helped me a lot of the morning but now I m having the same issue again with gas in my chest. My question is, do you think there is still gas in my chest or is my brain just telling me there is so that I will keep gagging out air and vomit?
