Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I sweat profusely all the time at the slightest movements. My skin however, will feel cold to the touch. Also, I am a heavier person but i work out regularly and over a year ago i dramatically changed my diet but I haven t lost a pound! My husband is on the same nutritional kick that I am on (since I do all of the cooking) and he has lost 30 pounds over the past year with the new eating habits alone. I also think it is important to note that even though I am heavier I have great stamina and can keep up with everyone else without being winded during workouts. I just don t understand why I sweat so much and why I can t lose any weight.
As per my clinical experience, the issue of over weight with inability to loose by diet control with regular exercise and sweating may be in concern with some sort of endocrine disturbances. The most common among them is thyroid disorder as hypothyroidism or else. Kindly get a consultation with your physician for basic lab tests including that of thyroid function test including free T4, free T3 and TSH levels.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
