Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been trying to lose weight since being very hungry after a 10 day coma aged 9. Following that, Dad went ballistic about my having gained a few pounds. He abused me for being fat and ordered me to go on a severe diet. 49 years later, I still can t remove the bulge. My breakfast is a cup of tea followed by 2eggs and chia seeds. Lunch is salad with homemade hummus. Dinner is chicken and veges, but not starch. Do I have an eating disorder?
Dear one, you are aware that your problem with your weight is rooted in the emotional abuse you received as a child. Healing this inner wound is possible with the help of a psychotherapst.
What your father did was wrong. Can you find it in your heart to forgive him? To learn to love yourself for who you are and not what the numbers on the scale mean? Set yourself free from your past and begin living in the moment.
Start an exercise program to get your blood flowing and feel yourself taking control over your past & the eating disorder you are trapped in.
You are obviously nutritionally deficient from the diet you describe. Show your body love by taking a hypoallergenic professional grade multivitamin to start with.
Then, please seek counseling from a Dietitian who specializes in eating disorders and a good therapist to help heal your mind & spirit.
My deepest regards for your struggle are with you.
