Suggest Treatment For Exhaustion, Fatigue, Severe Menstrual Bleeding And Pain
Hi, I have just started a course of microgynon contraceptive pill (this is my 3rd week) Im suffering severe period pain and heavy bleeding worse than normal, which is why I have started this pill. My pain cannot be stopped with any over the counter pain relief and my bleeds are so heavy. I feel fatigued and exhausted, all I have been able to do is sleep for the last 3 days. Im wondering if I should continue with this pill and this will settle or stop taking this pill? thank you :)
Microgynoncontraceptive pill is a combined oral pill which is very effective in reducing heavy bleeding and abdominal cramps.I would suggest you to continue the drug according to your prescription. But the cause of such heavy bleeding should be identified.Pelvic ultrasound, thyroid function test and complete blood count should be done to identify the cause.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
