Suggest Treatment For External Hemorrhoids

I ve looked at pictures online and it looks like I have an external hemorrhoid. There is also a dark spot on it and it has been bleeding a little everyday for the last 5 days. I ve had it for about a week. It has gotten smaller over the last 2 days. I have been using tucks pads and sitz baths daily for the last 5 days.Do you think I need to see a doctor about it?

Hello dear
understand your concern.
Yes you have to consult the general surgeon for proper treatment as examination as necessary before taking treatment.
Doctor will give you following advice:
Application of petroleum jelly or zinc oxide, lidocaine, and a vasoconstrictor such as epinephrine.
Local application of steroid (not more than 14 days).
Warm (but not hot) sitz baths a: sit in about 8 cm of warm water for 15 minutes, several times a day, especially after a bowel movement.
Take foods rich in dietary fiber, intake of more oral fluids to maintain hydration, Avoid straining to pass stools, after passing a stool, use moist toilet paper or baby wipes to clean your bottom.

If not respond to drugs and increased in severity:
If symptoms persist, your doctor may suggest surgery like sclerotherapy & Banding, Coagulation or cauterisation
