Suggest Treatment For Extreme Depression With Bipolar Disorder

Hello, I am looking for a Psychiatrist for my step daughter. She is a single mom with a four year old and has major depression with I am sure Bipolar. He child has been taken by CAS previously and we have worked very hard to get him back. They have become involved again as she is refusing to take medications and is only wanting to meditate. Wikki I believe. CAS is requiring her to go to a Psychiatrist and I since I live in the States (Michigan) I was wondering who in Windsor deals with depressive bipolar disorders as well as homeopathic therapies. I am a nurse in the States and my step daughter has not given medications a chance. She stops taking them and then we have a situation like we did where there was food in the fridge for months and rotten. cigs on the floor and mice in her house. Every bit of clothes she owns was on the floor. Just a mess and she didn t seem to think there was a problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

1. As you are assuming her to be a case of bipolar disorder, you should first contact your PCP or a Psychiatrist, who can guide you on the relevant examination and exact dosage of the drug.

2. Because the choice of medicine will vary from doctor to doctor, and from locality to locality, so make sure she initially remain under single supervision.

3. Eat a healthy diet, stay away from caffeine, alcohol, spices, pickles, drink green tea, take an apple, banana, dates, practice relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, and Pranayam.

4. Since drug therapy is generally only palliative treatment, we have to look at cognitive and behavioral strategies and especially nutritional strategies.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
