Suggest Treatment For Extreme Insomnia, GAD, Panic Attacks And SAD

I have extreme insomnia, gad and sad. I take 15mg restoril which works and 225mg effexor which I love. I still had panic attacks about twice a week though so my doctor prescribed buspar. Does it work and how long does it take? I'm taking 15mg bid this week then 30 bid

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You have insomnia, GAM, panic attacks and Seasonal affective disorder. Your current medicines are Resoril 15 mg and 225 mg Effexor. Even with these medicines you have episodes of panic attacks. You have been advised to take Buspirone. Buspirone would take some time to show its effects, wait for at least a couple of weeks to see its effect. For episodic control of panic symptoms medicines like Benzodiazepines can be used. Medicines like Etizolam, Alprazolam etc can be used on SOS basis and will help to control your symptoms effectively. These medicines are safe to use and can be used till Buspirone controls the symptoms. Consult your doctor for prescription.
