Suggest Treatment For Extreme Pain In Neck Post An Injury Causing Crunching Noise

Hi I got tackled and hit my head/neck on the ground first. I heard crunching noise and now my neck is in the worst pain ever. I can t even do a sit up. It s hard for me to lay down or get up. Do you think I m okay or should I see a doctor? I m scared it s serious and I ll loose all my athletic abilities but I am probably just paranoid

It is possible that you only have muscle related injury and will be fine but this would need to be determined by physical examination of the neck particularly since you noted an abnormal sound.

Most traumatic injuries are minor and not life changing but it would be best for you to see your doctor to determine this by examination.
Unfortunately it cannot be determined by history alone.
