Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 18 month old appears to have an eye infection in his left eye and a fever of 103. What can I do for him? I ve given him tylenol for the fever and will be giving him ibuprophen alternately (he is teething-3 molars at once) but I don t know how to treat the eye infection/
The symptoms suggest that your child may be having a viral/ bacterial infection and needs to be seen by a pediatrician for the diagnosis and to know if antibiotics would be needed. In the meantime you can use general hygiene measures like clean his bedding, use a separate towel for the infected eye, wipe off the discharge from his eyes with cotton and lukewarm water.
