Hi Dr. Andrew, It started around two weeks ago, with puffiness under my both eyes with a dark crease from the corner of my eye down then redness and like swelling feels very unusual have been on antibiotics also tried cream half percent cortisone cream, never had trouble with my skin or under my eyes tried everything notice more red after shower also making me look older sometimes i had redness in patches around bottom off my eyes and top off cheek bones....hope you can help have been to my doctor also chemist and asked been on sinus tabs also nothing seems to work.
* The red-eye and swelling not resolving after 2 weeks of antibiotics is not normal and one must be vigilant to cure it.
The issue can be drug-resistant bacteria or others.
* It is best recommended to get a culture swab report of the eye discharge and further treatment accordingly to avoid further damage to the eye.
Till that time, the splashing of eyes with cold sterile water and the wearing of goggles to avoid exposure to dust and pollen is of immense importance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
