As you said the blood is oozing a bit then I believe it might be an injury to eye and if he doesn't have any symptoms like weakness on any side of body, but if the readiness and oozing is associated to weakness headache then I suggest you consult a neurologist as well as an ophthalmologist as he needs a proper clinical examination.
