General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If you have a fever and cough, you likely have a respiratory infection. It is important to rest, drink plenty of fluids, and take over-the-counter medications such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen to reduce fever and relieve pain. If you are coughing up phlegm, it may be helpful to take an expectorant medication to help loosen and expel the phlegm. It is also important to practice good hygiene, such as washing your hands frequently, to avoid spreading the infection to others.

Meet your doctor, if you develop shortness of breath or chest pain, as these symptoms can indicate a more serious respiratory condition. Your healthcare provider may prescribe antibiotics or other medications to treat your infection and help alleviate your symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
