Suggest Treatment For Fatigue, Fever And Excessive Cough
I started coughing around October 1st. Had some fatigue and low-grade fever. Went to doctor October 7th and was diagnosed with pneumonia. Got steroid shot and Rocephin shot, breathing treatment and prescriptions for Levaquin, steroid pack, Hycofenix. Stopped smoking October 8th. Gradually got better after about a week or so but still some lingering coughing(not productive or if any, a clearish mucus). Sunday night started coughing again some and by Monday felt like I was taking short, shallow breaths. Cough became productive again today. Dark yellow, thick. Is the pneumonia still there or is this from cleaning out lungs since no longer smoking? It s the most productive cough I ve had since I first got sick.
If you smoked for a long period of time, it would affect the protective mechanisms of the lungs and increase the risk of infection. As you continue to hold off however, this may improve.
You need to consider seeing your doctor for an assessment and treatment.
I hope this helps

Suggest Treatment For Fatigue, Fever And Excessive Cough
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic This seems as though you have a new pneumonia infection or sudden worsening of the bacteria that caused the previous infection. In either case, you need another course of antibiotics It is not related to the smoking cessation. If you smoked for a long period of time, it would affect the protective mechanisms of the lungs and increase the risk of infection. As you continue to hold off however, this may improve. You need to consider seeing your doctor for an assessment and treatment. I hope this helps
