Suggest Treatment For Fatigue In An Elderly Person

My 93-year-old mother has been in bed for two days, "tired". She vomited a time or two, and has had black, horrible-smelling bowel movements three or four times in the two days. I will check her b.p. tomorrow, but wondered if those are the symptoms to anything that jumps to mind. Her blood pressure med was doubled a month or so ago, but no other changes and she's in really good health otherwise.

Hello,

I have gone through your query thoroughly. This warrants underlying intestinal pathology like heavy intestinal infection, inflammatory bowel disease or hemorrhoids giving rise to low hemoglobin, anemia and tiredness.

Suggestions at present:
• Maintain hydration with plenty of liquids preferably boiled water, homemade juices, green tea, coffee, buttermilk
• Avoid oily, spicy
• Capsule Prilosec
• Electoral solution
• Consult a doctor for the final diagnosis and management

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
