Suggest Treatment For Fatigue, Mood Swings And Hypersomnia
I recently moved to the Faridabad area from the united states. I have been on a stimulant medication for the last 10 years in the US which is not available in India. I desperately need a qualified psychiatrist to assist me in transitioning to another medication as soon as possible. I just started a new job, and am constantly fatigued and exhausted, because my medication has completely run out. At the moment, I am experiencing hypersomnia, extreme fatigue in my shoulders and neck and a very low mood.
These seem to be withdrawal symptoms of psychiatric medications specially benzodiazepine withdrawal and less likely to be serotine syndrome. You can approach any psychiatric in your periphery and get a prescription for controlled therapy for your symptoms. You can get baseline investigations, your primary care physician review to rule out any objective cause of these symptoms before jumping to psychiatric aspect. Afterwards regular follow up gradually tapering the benzodiazepine, as well as SSRIs to overlap for some time should be done.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
