Febrile seizure usually happens between the age of 6 months to 6 years. Taking paracetamol to bring down the fever is the best option available. In case if there is very frequent convulsion, you can consider frissium prophylaxis at the beginning of fever especially in the initial 2 to 3 days if fever will help. Just because of of shivering you need not do, all these mentioned battery of tests. Consider a work of febrile illness like blood count and urine examination which will help us decide how to proceed further.
