Suggest Treatment For Fever Accompanied By Headaches And Swollen Lymphnodes
I ve been running a fever for at least a couple of days with symptoms of general achiness, headache and swollen glands. no digestive problems nor sore throat nor respiratory issues. i m a 61 year-old man in pretty decent health-haven t used a sick day in years. i ve been treating with ibuprofen, fluids and rest. today i swtiched to tylenol. last temp check at 8 PM was 101.3. i had chills 3 hours ago and took tylenol at 5:30. any other suggestions? Bill
Based on your description, it may be a viral illness but it would be difficult to definitely say if there are no symptoms pinpointing to a particular organ system eg cough/cold symptoms, abdominal symptoms etc
The use of the ibuprofen or tylenol, fluids and rest is appropriate and should be continued.
In most cases the symptoms continue for 1 to 2 weeks.
If there is any worsening or the symptoms continue beyond this time then you can consider seeing your doctor for assessment.
I hope this helps
